  • What you will do

Gas Meter Survey Technician

Position Summary:This position is responsible for performing a visual meter inspection to assess the condition and overall operation of the gas meter and regulator confirmation and noting any visible defects or issues. This position walks and drives a route, we are not reading the gas meter or making any changes to the meter. This is a fixed term six month project. This is a gas meter survey on the overall condition of the gas meter.

Responsibilities:Inspect meter and connections for defects, damage and unauthorized use if required per contract. Enters information into cell phone that is company equipped. Maintain and secures company equipment and confidential information. At end of shift, report to Supervisor and enters into cell phone any problem such as meter irregularities, damaged equipment, or impediments to meter access, including dogs. 

Compensation is based on piece rate, .97 cents per meter in the lower mainland. You utilize your personal vechicle, we pay $0.45 per kilometer and we provide a company cell phone for business use
We will supply the tools and material to get the job done right the first time.

Preferred Skills: 
•Attention to detail and accuracy to properly survey the gas meter.•Ability to read, write, follow, and complete written instructions. •Ability to find locations/address by reading a map and cell phone. •Ability to key data into cell phone.Basic computer skills helpful. •Ability to communicate and interact with customers in a professional manner. •Ability to walk route, which includes stairs and  unpaved/rough terrain areas, of up to 8 kilometers each day

Position Summary:  

Tribus Services has an immediate career opportunity for a Gas Meter Technician. You commute to the Kent office to pick up the company car each day and commute back to your residence at the end of each work day.          

The wage is $18.00/hr. to start and then after the two week training period the wage increase to $19.00/hr. plus a $.75 per hour retention bonus. Four 10 hour shifts 7am-5:30pm, M-TH and TU-FRI.

Responsibilities:  

This position is responsible for placing/installing a meter module, such as a smart meter module or counter, onto a gas meter at residential or commercial sites to enhance metering solutions, accurately measure consumption, and ensure transmittal of signals to the network.                    

  • •Drives company vehicle to first residence/business on route using provided mapping tool to locate site, and verifies address using hand held device.          
  • Drive or walk route to each customer site depending on the distance. May walk up to 4 miles daily.          
  • Locate meter and determines if it is accessible/poses safety hazards. Enter reason code into hand held device if meter is not accessible, and document with appropriate photographic evidence          
  • Verify meter number. Inspect the meter for any damage/hazards. Reads consumption and other necessary information from the meter index. Accurately enters information into hand held device.          
  • Remove meter cover and module from the meter using hand tools. Utilize a hand held device for meter data collection and verification before programming new module. Install the new module using hand tools following all current S.O.P’s for the completion of their assigned route,. Downloads all necessary photographs taken to a shared private server. Downloads new route information into their company provided computer. Picks up their new route of assigned meters, verifies quantity/count. Returns to the field and continues to perform meter module installations.                    

 Requirements:   

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Must hold a valid driver’s license.          
  • Must pass Meter-Pro test                    

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   

  • Attention to detail and accuracy to record meter data          
  • Ability to read, write, and follow and complete written instructions.

 This position involves working on your own in a field environment where you are able to maintain compliance with COVID-19 CDC Guidelines. This position requires working outdoors in all-weather environments including rain, snow, extreme cold, or high heat. Requires travel by car; may be exposed to road related hazards. Tribus Services Inc. has an immediate opening for a highly motivated, collaborative and committed individual to fill the position of Project Manager.   

This position located in Tacoma, WA and will support our City of Tacoma, WA. AMI electric and water meter project. The Project Manager will lead our Electric meter Install pilot project which could evolve into a 2-year smart meter project.   

Responsibilities:   

  • Direct procedures and policies of their project. Analyze and/or evaluate practices and systems to ensure daily operations, prioritizes work to meet timelines, manages continuous improvement of project, procedures and operational methods.   
  • Purchase/obtain all needed equipment and materials to complete the project. Work with Fleet Manager to secure transportation for project. Compile, schedule and issue routes daily utilizing routing and work order management software.   
  • Ensure proper training of all field staff and uphold safety standards.Takes immediate steps to resolve any unsafe working conditions.Collaborate with office and field staff on route schedules, invoicing,errors, training, payroll, employee status changes and other employee related issues.   
  • Verify that all routes are completed ensuring quality and timeliness. Schedules re-reads shut offs and other special consideration customers as needed. Visit route sites and performs quality checks. Track daily completions, labor hours, etc. Runs reports and supplies production information as requested by Director, Corporate or Customer.   
  • Perform staff management functions including: Monitor and resolve on-the-job problems, set appropriate performance standards, analyze staffing levels, interview and selects new employees; facilitate staff training, coaching, cross-training and mentoring; perform performance evaluations and salary adjustments, completes new job profiles, resolve employee concerns; performs disciplinary counseling, and performs terminations with Human Resources assistance. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to staff when appropriate.   
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with customers, keeping them informed on a regular basis. Work with Director of Sales and Operations to introduce the client to Tribus Services Inc. additional services and grow business.   
  • Manage and maintain the project budget. Review operating costs become familiar with project revenue projections and all project related contracts.   
  • Keeps records, tracks project performance and produces reports as requested.    

Requirements  

High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree and/or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is a plus. 
 Three (3) or more years’ experience supervising/managing people and large-scale projects. Experience with remote/ offsite projects helpful. Two years’ work experience preferred in a utility related environment such as meter installation, meter reading, smart meter technology, utilities work, or similar experience. Must have strong communication skills, written and oral as well as excellent leadership skills.

Tribus Services has an immediate career opportunity for a Full Time Warehouse Associates, this project based position is thru January 2023. This position, located in Tacoma, WA will support our Tacoma Public Utilities Water Meter and Electric Meter AMI project. This position will be responsible for performing the cross docking process, receiving stores, distributing and tracking the materials, tools, equipment and products used on the project. Forklift experience is preferred.     

What you will do:  

 •Reviews installer’s daily routes and schedules and prepares for distribution of needed tools, equipment, and information for that work day.
•Verifies incoming and outgoing materials stock.     

•Performs inventory control. Receives new meters and other equipment, marks them with identifying information and stores materials in designated area.      

•Counts and records (performs data entry) amounts of received stock into software package such as IFS Software. Records the number of items distributed into IFS Software.     

•Fills requisitions, work orders and request for materials, tools, or other stock items.      

•Reads and records information on salvaged meters and prepares meters for shipping back to utilities or for disposal.     

•Reports inventory to customers on a regular basis.     

•Operates fork lift and/or hand truck to transport stored items or received shipments.
