Gas Leak Detection

The governments of the US and Canada require that natural gas utilities constantly monitor their systems for gas leaks and releases.

The quick and accurate detection of these leaks is crucial to safe system operation, and to the general public’s safety.

Olameter provides a vast array of associated services, which include:

  • Walking and mobile leak surveys
  • Pinpointing and reporting of any found leaks and releases
  • Gas odor complaint response

Olameter uses state-of-the-art equipment that is certified, recognized, and approved by our natural gas clients. We follow our clients’ maintenance inspection schedules, and promptly complete and submit all required paperwork and documentation.

Olameter also offers cathodic protection reading, which is the analysis of the level of corrosion activity on the underground steel facilities of our natural gas clients.

All of Olameter’s field staff have received instruction and testing with Operator Qualification (“OQ’d”) exams to effectively and safely perform these tasks.

Our site services personnel are subject to ISO 9001 quality audits, ISO 14001 environmental management audits and OHSAS 18001 health and safety audits. All company vehicles are equipped with GPS and monitored 24/7.
